Brett contributed to some of the winningest seasons in Michigan State history, including the 2013 Rose Bowl, 2014 Cotton Bowl, and 2015 College Football Playoff campaigns, helping the Spartans compile a 36-5 record over that stretch.

During his five seasons at Michigan State (2012–2017), Brett helped coach some of the top defenses in the nation. The Spartans ranked #1 in total defense in 2013, #7 in 2014, and #7 again in 2015, establishing themselves as one of the most dominant defensive units in college football during that stretch.
Throughout his 3 seasons at Kansas they made significant strides in punting, leading the Big 12 in net punting in 2018 and ranking among the national leaders in gross punting average. He also coached multiple All-Big 12 honorees and helped elevate the performance and consistency of both the return and coverage units.

Blane a former team captain and WAC MVP, led Air Force to a 20-3 record as a starting quarterback He has over 18 years of coaching experience and has worked under coaches Rocky Long, Troy Calhoun and Fisher Deberry.

During his 5 seasons as San Diego State (2015-2019). Blane served as an integral role in leading the Aztecs to a 49-18 overall record, including two 11-win seasons and back to back MWC Championships in 2015 and 2016.
At San Diego State. Blane developed the All-Time Winningest Quarterback in San Diego State history, Christian Chapman, over three seasons (2015-2017). Blane's Quarterbacks ranked #1 nationally in fewest interceptions thrown, #1 in lowest interception percentage, and #3 in touchdown to interception ratio.
At Air Force, Blane served a key role in leading the Falcons to six consecutive bowl games (2007-2012) for the first time in school history.
As the OC/QBs Coach at Air Force, Blane developed four quarterbacks: Tim Jefferson (MWC Freshman of the year and all time winningest QB in Air Force history). Connor Dietz (Led the MWC in Passing Efficiency). Kale Pearson (Ranked #2 in the MWC and #8 nationally in passing efficiency).
